The skies are now quiet over Gainesville, but that was not the case on April 14th & 15th as the Heart of Florida Airshow was underway at the Gainesville Regional Airport. Hopefully, you were able to experience the power, precision and heart stopping performances of the outstanding line up of military jets and world class aerobatic performers that made up the 2007 Heart of Florida Airshow.
 
The A-10, F-16 and F-18 Military Demo Teams provided a dazzling display of power, speed and maneuvers which demonstrated the capabilities of these formidable craft used to defend and protect in our military today.
 
Aerobatic performances that push the planes beyond what would be expected thrilled all who viewed the amazing aerodynamic feats of world class champions like Patty Wagstaff, Jim LeRoy, Tim Weber and Gene Soucy with wing walker Teresa Stokes plus so many more. Power, speed and daring were evident as well as the beauty of Manfred Radius’ sailplane and Dan Buchanan’s glider.
 
Numerous static displays provided the ability to view up close a variety of planes from classics like the restored 1937 DC 3 Flagship Detroit to a Russian built Yak 52 and everything in between.
 
An atmosphere of fun prevailed as the children had a special Kid’s Zone for their entertainment; and the concession stands overflowed with a variety of great food and drinks.
